About this event

Tour De Carbs.   Ride to the renowned Oostburg Bakery.

Both routes follow the old interurban rail line paved bike trail north of Port Washington.


Short Route - 36 mi
The Short ride will start in downtown Port Washington near the intersection of Franklin Street and Washington Ave. at the Daily Baking Company. Ride Leader for this ride is Dan Neesley. The ride will begin at 10:30. The Daily Baking Company serves breakfast as well as coffee and pastries. Come early?  Daily baking company. 

Long Route - 66 mi
The Long Ride will start at 9:00 at Virmond Park. This ride will advance north to Port Washington and meet up with the short ride near the intersection of Franklin Street and Washington Ave. at the Daily Baking Company at 10:15. The Ride Leader for the Long Ride is Mark Sandler. The long and short routes will ride to Oostburg bakery together at 10:30.

Half way rest stop is of course at the Oostburg bakery where you can carb-up for the ride back. Restrooms available at the Oostburg train depot; 1 block south of the bakery along side the bike trail.

Virmond Park Starters......I-43 Mequon Road ramps are closed. Exit northbound I-43 at Port Washington Road and go across intersection to Katherine drive. Then Right on Sedler. Left on lake shore drive to park.


There is a public free parking area behind the Daily bakery south of Washington street and east of Wisconsin Ave., where the short route riders can park.  Virmond park has water and restrooms for the long distance riders.
